Sweet & Chic

We are half-way through the week so keep your heels, head & standards high.

If you have been keeping up with the blog lately, you will know I am way beyond ready for Spring! Since the weather has maintained it's pre-Spring conditions, I've greatly come to appreciate nature in it's natural and simplistic form. From the smell of honeysuckle to the blooming of flowers, nature is the most beautiful action to experience... So enjoy it !

Today's chic ensemble consist of a lovely black peplum skirt from Forever 21 that I got last year. I loved  it so much that I got it in MINT; (which I will do ootd of in the near future). The skirt screams flirty with a touch of class that hugs your curves very well. You have to show them curves off! Pairing the skirt with a neutral color Tippi sweater from J.Crew and a floral scarve to give it a pop of color. Topped it off with pair statement sunglasses to give it an Audrey Hepburn look and you have successfully completed a
sweet & chic outfit.

Have a great day!

Written in black and white

Happy Monday!

Let's start off with this amazing sweatshirt! Ever since I saw Kris Jenner in a fierce faux leather sweatshirt on KUWTK I have been on the hunt for a fabulous faux leather sweatshirt.

When researching, I notice that a lot of sites only carried them in all black. Well I did not want all black! I wanted to stand out from the sea of darkness and make a statement. That is when I came across this GORGEOUS, HEAD-TURNING, SHOWING STOPPING, treasure! Asos has definitely caught my attention with this beaut, I mean really look at the details! If you cannot tell I love this sweatshirt.

Although, I focused mainly on the sweatshirt, I will say that the color combo of black and white will forever be classic and chic. Black and white was all over the past fall season and it sets itself for a great transition palette for the spring. Weather is looking hopeful and consistent. Let's just hope it stays that way!

Transitional Blues

It's Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday!
It has been a long and stressful week, the weekend is here and I am in paradise.

In North Carolina the weather is well rather transitional.  One day it's raining, the next it's snowing, another day it's freezing cold and the lastly it's perfect, sunny with a gentle breeze. I took full advice of nicer weather when I got the chance because I am ready for Spring.

I am totally obsessed with this strappy heels from Aldo. They are very comfortable and can upgrade any ensemble. I mean really who does not love to look fabulous? I paired these fabulous heels with one of J.Crew's classics,  The Pixie Pant, add a chambray button-down, my favorite sunglasses and a infinity scarve and there you have it ;a simple and chic outfit for the perfect weekend in "paradise."

Have a great weekend!

On Wednesday's We Wear Pink !

Hello World! We are half way through the week and closer to the weekend, finally. I am so over the winter season and ready for spring. This change of weather has inspired me to do an fun and bright pink look!
Enjoy :)

The infamous "On Wednesday's We Wear Pink" was coined from Mean Girls, a classic, in today's generation. However, this girl here is far from being a mean girl.

After a long hiatus from the blog I have decided to make a posting schedule for me to follow and be consistence for my viewers because I truly missed doing ootd's (outfits of the day) and I know you did too.

For this look today, I decided to incorporate one of my favorite colors, which is pink! I got this from H&M about 2 years ago & I have wore it like crazy I definitely stand out. Having a great blazer in your wardrobe is  an essential  item to any outfit. You can use an classic black blazer for a professional setting or you could go the more trendy-er route by picking an colorful print, design, or solid color. To complete your fashionable outfit just throw on an scarve, which complements the blazer, (like I did above) and you are good to go! BLAZERS ARE ABSOLUTELY GREAT.

Next on the list are pants. When pairing a blazer you need the right fit and color pant. For me I like to stick with neutral colors such as black, khaki, and sometimes navy. However, I do what to challenge myself and try a great print that is flattering to my petite hour-glasses figure. When choosing the right pant make sure it is proportion to your upper half. Proportion is very  important when you want to look put together. I went with a classic black dress pant and a pair of comfortable flats from Aerosoles and that's it! I had a very busy day and heels for me were out of the question. You should always have a pair of comfortable flats for those hectic days and nights.

I have some great news to share with you all, which I will go into more details later. Look out for Transitional Blues on Friday's blog.

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Watch Me Work, Hello 2014 !

After a long hiatus from my blog. I AM FINALLY BACK AND READY FOR ACTION.
Hello 2014, it's time to "Watch Me Work".

2014 is finally here and what better way to start off the year with a BIG RED TRAIN!  I stumble upon it while driving and I said hey! Why not do a photo-shoot here? And so I did and the rest is history.

I love this daring outfit it put together at the last minute.
Who say you can't wear shorts in the cold months?  This is definitely a style that I will be embracing more this season.

This is was not a very long post because I  am letting the images speak for themselves. But 2014 is going to be a HUGE year for myself and the blog so just sit back and watch me work!

Midnight Breeze

Happy Tuesday ! School is definitely in full swing. In my absence from my blog I have busy with school work, obtaining a new retail job and attending multiple networking events. Today post it about beauty lighting and the night.

I recently found a new appreciation for the beauty of night. As a child I had a fear of being in the dark. I  always thought something was out there to get me and take me away. Now as a adult I come to realize that everything that I thought was scary and abstract is not all bad. One being the night and it's mysterious darkness. I shot this photo-shoot when the sun was setting and. My location, on MC beautiful campus, I found a great spot where the walk way had column lighting and a quaint water foundation. With lost of natural light I decided to use the lighting features on the walk way to shot my photos. They came out AMAZING! Ah you have to love the art of capturing candid shots and working with what you have. You never know how things will turn out!

In this outfit post, I focus a lot on the navy maxi skirt, hence the "mysterious darkness". Maxi shirts are very versatile and are a must have staple item every lady needs in her wardrobe. From a white t-shirt tucked in with sandals and minimal jewelry to a burnt orange blouse with a cognac skinny belt to define your waist and cognac heels or boots; you have put together an effortless but chic outfit that can be transform from day to night.Another feature I love about this skirt how light and airy it is. It is great for layering with  pattern tights or a faux leather jacket and a great knit scarf. I plan on purchasing more maxi skirts for the fall/winter so I can step out of my comfort-zone with pattern tights !! This should be interesting.

I hope you enjoyed this posted as much as I have. Look forward to tomorrow posted where I will discuss my experience meeting Lauren Conrad's assistant Amanda Schardt who is a Meredith College Alumni !

Have a great day !
