Traveling Back in Time

Outfit Details

Blazer: Charlotte Russe (got it over 2 years ago) // White tank: H&M // Skirt: Forever 21 // Clutch: Aldo // Watch: Fossil // Shoes: Keds

Have you ever had that one picture, photo-shoot, or outfit that you loved but never made the cut because you just did not feel comfortable about, or realized that you need to have a HUGE wardrobe update? Well that was exactly how I felt about the little number here. This photo-shoot was done very early in my blogging career, and clearly I did not know what I was doing.Trying to find good locations, different picture angles, and most importantly the outfit itself, takes a lot of hard work and time to create an capturing and  entertaining posted ! Whew, its not always sunshine and rainbows but over time I found my own path and rhythm and it feels amazing to see myself grow as a blogger.

As I grow as a blogger I have realized that an "thrown together" outfit fashions some of the best outfits. You have seen this fabulous black peplum skirt many times on the blog and this is definitely my go to item in my wardrobe. From heels to sneakers this skirt is a versatile piece that can be consisted a staple in my closet. I paired a basic white tank with a teal 3/4 sleeve blazer from Charlotte Russe to give a more sophisticated look, but I wanted to be comfortable and I knew that I was going to run a lot of errands that day so threw on this comfy Keds and fab clutch from my favorite store, Aldo, to top off the look !

What are your favorite go to items in your closet?

Have a great start to a amazing week!

As I sat front row at this prestigious fashion show, I was memorized by the motion picture runway. With such a soothing present and iridescent music my excitement steady build as I guess what was to be expected from this collection. While I was sitting there taking in my surroundings I noticed that there were many elite professionals within the industry and even a celebrity, Miss China 2014! She was absolutely gorgeous and very posed. I could not take my eyes off of here.

Just as the show began, the runway grab your attention as it illuminated a delicate pedestal for the first model to graced your present in a show stopping gown. Just when you think the model would walk towards you, the lights follow the next pedestal that then creates a seamless runway for all to see. The amazing part about  this was each pedestal was placed strategically  in front of each sections for all of the guests to examine and awe over each detailed gown!

I am so humble to have this opportunity to attend such an amazing fashion show. If you want to check out the entire show, click here.

Sophisticated

Start your week off being..

 Sophisticated

The excitement of receiving these pictures from this photo shoot could not be contained! While studying abroad in Paris, I had the opportunity to partake in this amazing photo shoot with professional  photographer, Luca Lomszzi. I was assigned to create a fashion story based on my findings about the upcoming Spring/Summer 2014-2015 collection from the Who's Next Trade Show (which will be discussed in Wednesday's post).

However, for my fashion story my inspiration came from Will Cotton's Cotton Candy Venus painting (inserted below). The pastel pinks, blues, and purples creates a bold, exciting, and soft feeling of femininity and power. In my shoot I wanted to capture the essence of softness but grab the attention of you guys through my poses which I think I did pretty well since I never had any modeling experience. Lomszzi also said it was easy for her to shoot me because of how well I posed, which is always great to hear a professional in the industry!

For my attire, I re-wore my Cotton Candy Color-blocking assemble which was prefect for the shoot. The hat that I am sporting is one the projects I did where we had to create a hat made out of burplap. It was pretty amazing and super easy. I added my black Madewell Etta pumps and paired my lime green earrings for a finishing touch.

I hope this was a great start to your week.

P.S. I add a customized banner to the blog. Tell me what you think in the comments.

Fashion Report: Internship at Elie Saab

Fashion Report : Working for Rick Owens

During my study abroad trip my creative juices have been flowing with ideas. Because of this I decide to create a new segment called Fashion Report, where I will discuss trends, tips, and my journey into the fashion industry.

The first Fashion Report is about having the opportunity to work (intern) for designer Rick Owens.  Here are some behind the scenes photos of the 2015 Spring/Summer Show.

As I was approaching the Palais de Charillot I was filled with excitement as I wondered what my day will be like as a dresser for Rick Owens. In the past year or two I have worked as an dresser for a charity fashion show and an senior fashion show at my college. So note that having experience in the fashion industry is critical if you want to make it in.

Once I set foot into the venue I was all surreal! From the runway to the models and all of the production it was just so amazing to see it all come to life. Everyone was in an all gruge look so black was the main color for his collection. But for the first time ever Rick Owens featured color in this collection which range from pastel pinks to army green. I also had the pleasure to dress a model by the name of Michael who was awesome. He was so nice and helpful when it came to the garments because some where difficult to put on especially since Michael and some of the other models was covered in body paint. We even took a selfie together as shown above.

Although it was only for one day it was something I would never forget. The people that I met to the things that I saw it has truly taught me that hard work and creativity can establish a masterpiece. Everyday thus far I am understanding the fashion industry more and more and I contiously fall in love with it. I can't wait for what's in the future !

I hope you are having a great 4th of July
